Obituary of Dolores S. Trainor

Dolores M. Scullin Thorne Trainor, 92, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Thursday June 16, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center at Morris Hall.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident of Lawrence Township. She attended Eldridge Park School and Cathedral High School. She worked at Thermoid Company, U.S. Steel, and ran The Charles F. Thorne Trucking agency after the death of her first husband. Dolores was a founding member of the Church of St. Ann’s in Lawrenceville, and a member of the Alter Rosary Society. Dolores was in charge of Membership for the Lawrence Township Senior Citizen Club #5 and also a former member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #6. Dolores loved to bake and the family pool parties and card games were legendary.
Daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Paffe) Scullin, Dolores was predeceased by her first husband Charles F. Thorne and her second husband Francis J. Trainor Sr. She was also predeceased by her infant son David P. Thorne, her step-son Brian E. Trainor, and her beloved sister Dorothy M. Benson. Dolores is survived by her daughter Maureen (Thorne) and her husband Michael Adams, and grandchildren Gillian, Andrew and Sean Adams of Lawrenceville. She is survived by her step-son Charles and Susan Thorne of Reno, NV. She is also survived by her step-children Francis and Elizabeth Williams, Melody Trainor and Maureen and Mark Nester, and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was blessed with through her second marriage. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws Kathleen Trainor and Ann Steffen. Dolores was blessed with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be especially missed by her niece Dee Lafharis, special friends Gerald and Scharma Picard, Joanne Hageman, and their families.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 12:30PM at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at Morris Hall, One Bishops’ Drive, Lawrenceville.
Burial will be private in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hamilton.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 11:30AM until the time of the mass at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Dolores' name be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O.
