Louis H. Micai, 86, of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Louis was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having proudly served his country with the US Navy. He is a retiree of David Sarnoff Research Center in Princeton, where he was employed as a model maker. Louis was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church. His favorite times were spent with his family and friends; summers at the BelAir in Wildwood, playing golf, bowling, fishing, and watching the New York Yankees, the New York Knicks and was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. His wise words and thoughts on life made an impact on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his humor, integrity and dedication to his family and will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Beloved husband of his soul mate the late Antonette Micai, son of the late Virgilio and Adele Micai; brother of the late William Micai, and Alma Bencivengo; and grandfather of the late Christopher Manning; he is survived by his three children and their spouses, Louis and Christine Micai, Kathleen and Robert Bornhoeft, and Linda and Mark Manning; 11 grandchildren; Robert, Mark, Patrick, Kameron, Gary, Samantha, Ryan, Jill, Tyler, Sean, and Melissa; 5 great-grandchildren, Pierce, Sienna, Gary, Lily, and Ava. Two sisters and one brother-in-law Marie Simonelli and Ellen and Santo Fruscione; two sisters-in-law, Florence Skorupa and Mary Southard; and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 8:30AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
Family and friends may call on Friday evening from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Micai's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation 11 Independence Way Newark, DE 19713.
