Second Lieutenant Harry Alexander Senopoulos, III, USMC, of Plainsboro, NJ, passed away on May 13, 2016 at the age of 23. He is survived by a loving family, including his wife 2LT Karissa E. Senopoulos, U.S. Army, his sister Nikki, his parents Harry and Donna, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Alex graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School in 2011 and during his years there, he played varsity ice hockey, learned to fly a plane and became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Plainsboro Rescue Squad. His intense desire to help and protect people led him to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach where he accepted a position in the Marine ROTC program. Alex graduated from Embry-Riddle in May of 2015 and simultaneously was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. In December of 2015, he completed The Basic School in Quantico, Va., and in January 2016 reported to the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida for the student Naval Aviation Training Program. After he completed his aviation preflight in April, he was assigned to TRAWING 5, VT-2 Doerbirds at the Naval Air Station in Whiting Field, Milton, Florida. A celebration of Alex’s life will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Home, 650 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. The burial with full service honors will be Monday, May 23 at 10:00 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Funeral attendees are asked to arrive at the cemetery no later than 9:45am.
