Obituary of Eileen R. Lanigan

Eileen R. Lanigan from Ewing and Seaside Park New Jersey passed to the Lord on May 10, 2016. She was surrounded by her devoted and loving family as well as her many caregivers as she began her journey home.
Eileen was employed with John A. Roebling and later by Trenton State College as the administration assistant to the Director of the School of Business. She spent many years nurturing and raising her children and Eileen will be forever “Jersey Strong.” She lived many years at her treasured Seaside Park, New Jersey home where she enjoyed bike rides, strolls on the boardwalk and being on the beach with her family. Eileen left footprints all over the United States with her soulmate on many trips and cruises. Her love will always last as each and every one of us has the opportunity to be as kind and humble as Eileen.
Eileen was born on April 6, 1925 in Trenton, New Jersey. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas J and Rose T Cavanaugh, her brothers Thomas J and William J Cavanaugh and his wife Josephine. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph P Lanigan and her sons Joseph P. Lanigan, Jr and his wife Jean, Thomas M Lanigan and his caring wife Joy who was constantly at her side providing comfort, twins James J Lanigan and Jane Drost and Eileen and her husband Ronald Kuzma. In addition, she was cherished by her grandchildren Kristin Kuzma Rorer and her husband Charles, Kelly M Lanigan Ommundsen and her husband Michael, Joseph P Lanigan III and his wife Gigi , Thomas P Kuzma, Thomas M Lanigan II and Ryan C Lanigan. Eileen is also survived by her sister in law Kathryn H Cavanaugh and by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12 Noon at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Visiting hours will be in the daily chapel at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass on Monday.
Interment will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, N. Hanover Twp., NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be guided to the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad, 61 J Street, Seaside Park, New Jersey 08752.
The family would like to especially thank Care Street Home Care and the Brookdale Community at Hamilton for their love and support in her care.
