Obituary of Josefa Balestrieri

Josefa “Josie” Balestrieri, 68, of Lawrenceville died peacefully Monday at Capital Health Medical Center Hopewell with her family by her side. Born in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines Josie was a resident of Lawrenceville for the past 42 years. For many years she was a familiar face working at her father-in-law’s deli, Pop’s Place and later at Bossio’s Deli, Abel Bagel and finally at On the Lighter Side. Daughter of the late Dalmacio and Asuncion Baguio and sister of the late Cenang Baguio, Josie is survived by her husband, Louis Balestrieri, Sr; her children, Louis Balestrieri, Jr., Mary Balestrieri, Alicia Balestrieri Fusco and her husband Anthony Fusco, Jr. and Lisa Balestrieri and her husband James Lee; her grandchildren, Raffaele Dalmacio Balestrieri and Isabella Lee Balestrieri; a Great Aunt Rosita Moen; her brothers, Rolando, Richard and Mahal Baguio; a sister, Expedita Baguio her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sal Balestrieri and wife Susan, Kathleen Ratcliffe and Rosemarie Novak and husband John, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery. Ewing, NJ Visitation for Josie will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
