Betty J. Sumner, of Southampton, PA died on July 8, 2012. Born and raised in Ewing, NJ where she was a lifelong resident before moving to Southampton, PA just two and a half years ago.
Betty had been an administrative assistant at the Mercer County Special Services School before her retirement in 1987.
She was a longtime member of the Cadwalader Heights United Methodist Church, and more recently a member of Trinity United Methodist in Ewing. She liked crafting for different church functions and enjoyed bowling.
Daughter of the late Budd and Anna Corilla (Bernasco) Jeffries, and wife of the late Robert W. Sumner Sr., she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Tom Kownacky and Gail's son Joseph Burton of Ewing, NJ, her two sons; Robert W. Sumner Jr. and his wife Deborah and daughter Amy of Bensalem, PA, and James B. Sumner, his son Richard and daughter Alexandra of Lawrenceville, NJ, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday July 11, 2012 at 11AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1985 Pennington Road, Ewing. Burial will be in the Ewing Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1985 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618.
